Our comprehensive Wellbeing programme has been highly commended; Lovewell Blake received a Gold Accreditation from the Best Employers Eastern Region programme in November last year, with judges saying that they were ‘impressed by the progressive wellbeing strategies’ across the firm. 

Lovewell Blake has a team of Wellbeing Champions across all of our offices.  The wellbeing champions help shape and implement Wellbeing initiatives, as well as providing support to employees.  We also have mental health first-aiders, and both mental health and menopause champions in place across our offices. 

We offer staff bereavement and pregnancy loss support, as well as access to a confidential employee assistance programme which can include up to six free face-to-face counselling sessions if needed. 

Staff have access to an employee Wellbeing portal, which is organised into four areas: ‘Money’, offering advice and support on budgeting and financial issues; ‘Move’, which has a range of exercise and physical health advice, as well as access to discounted gym memberships; ‘Mind’, which offers advice and support on mental health issues; and ‘Munch’, aimed at helping staff improve their diets, and which includes a large healthy eating recipe library. 

Most importantly, Lovewell Blake has worked with mental health charity Mind to provide comprehensive mental health training for managers, recognising that these are the people who are best placed to spot the early signs of stress and mental health issues, and offer early intervention to reduce the risk of a problem becoming more serious. 

The various Wellbeing initiatives seem to be working.  The most recent staff survey showed that 93% of staff say they have supportive relationships with their line manager, and 83% say they would feel confident in sharing a mental health concern with their manager.
